Although sweet foods may not cause damage to your applienaces, care should be taken to brush your teeth immediately after eating them. If you cannot brush, at least rinse your mouth with water. Also, soda pop is an especially harmful food that can cause tooth decay and even permanent chalky marks (decalcification) on your teeth, so we suggest a fruit juice as a substitute.

In order to ger started in the right direction, it is important that you have an understanding of your responsabilities. For maximum success to be attained, you must follow instructions carefully, brush and floss your teeth and gums as prescribed, and refraining from eating the foods mentioned above. If your treatment requires wearing headgear, elastics, or rubberbands, we will need your full cooperation. Poor cooperation or carelessness will lengthen the period of treatment and may eventually add unnecessary expense.
