Meet Dr. Girgis

At Girgis & Ito Orthodontics, we are proud to introduce Dr. Girgis, one of our trusted orthodontist in Woodridge, IL, who has been changing lives by helping people improve their smiles. Dr. Girgis believes that orthodontics is more than just straightening teeth — it’s about building confidence, improving oral health, and creating a better quality of life for every patient.

A Lifetime of Helping People Smile

Dr. Girgis has been practicing dentistry since 1989 and became a specialist in orthodontics in 1993. That means he has been helping patients with braces and other treatments for over 30 years. He works with children, teens, and adults from all backgrounds, always listening carefully to their goals.

No two smiles are the same. Dr. Girgis understands that each person has a different bite, jaw alignment, and smile shape. He creates a custom orthodontic treatment plan to make sure each person gets the optimal results from the treatment.

Education and Training

Dr. Girgis worked hard to become an orthodontist near you. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Northwestern University. After dental school, he went on to complete his Certificate in Orthodontics at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester.

He was also honored for his academic performance. While at Northwestern, he received the American Association of Periodontists’ Senior Award and was selected for the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, a group that recognizes top dental students.

Even though he has many years of experience, Dr. Girgis continues to learn every year. He attends orthodontic meetings and courses to keep up with the newest technology, tools, and methods. His goal is to give each patient the optimal care possible using the most updated techniques.

Dr. Girgis is an active member of several dental and orthodontic organizations. These groups help him stay connected to other dental professionals and share new knowledge. His memberships include:

Dr. Girgis is also a member of the C-12 Group, a Christian business leadership organization.

More About Dr. Girgis

Dr. Girgis grew up in Hinsdale, Illinois, and has lived in Naperville since 1993. He and his wife Laura, have been married since 1987. They have three grown children — Alyssa, Robbie, and Emily — and they also have a Golden Retriever dog named Maya.

When he’s not at the office, Dr. Girgis stays active. He enjoys golfing, skiing, biking, running, and traveling. He also has a special interest in learning about cars. Most of all, he values spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Girgis is thankful every day for the chance to do what he loves. He believes God gave him the talent and opportunity to help people through orthodontics — and he doesn’t take that gift lightly.
